My sister, mom, and I took a little girls extended weekend to San Antonio this past weekend. Before I get into how wonderful it was, I have to say a huge thanks to two of my best friends,
Alison and
Emily for watching the girls for me. I can't even say what their friendship means to me! Oh and Nick of course too for watching the girls all weekend!!!! He is the best! Now on to the fun stuff. Can I just tell you how fun it was to spend time with my mom and sis just shopping, eating, and gabbing all weekend long! We flew in on Thursday, drove around the city, grabbed some food, then headed out to Dana's Aunt In Law (I think I just made that up) house where we stayed. They were sooo nice to let us stay with them. We stayed up talking for a while and then hit the hay. We got up the next morning and shopped non stop from 9- 7:30. It was so nice, not worrying about naps, if I had enough fruit snacks, where the elevator was to get the stroller up it!!! We then headed to the hotel and went to sleep. Now one of the reasons we planned this trip was to meet in a city none of us had been to and to do some type of race. We decided on a 10K. Well of course I ended up not being able to do it b/c of my knee. I was so disappointed, but so proud of my mom and sister. Dana ran it in 58 min. and my mom walked it in 1 hr and 19 min. She even beat out a bunch of runners. I seriously almost cried when they finished! We then headed down to the Riverwalk, which was so cool. We hit up the Alamo, which I couldn't believe was just in the middle of the city. We walked down to the Marketplace and ate at this amazing Mexican restaurant Mi Tierra. If you ever go to San Antonio you need to go there. It's authentic Mexican with a bakery right there. We then headed back to Dana's Aunt's house but of course had to make a shopping stop one more time. On Sunday we all headed home. It was such a good trip. We decided that we are going to do these every other year. We are thinking beach next time. Now on to the pictures. Before you look at them I have to preface it with, we didn't have the best weather. It rained off and on Saturday. That combined with no umbrella and humidity equals some crazy curly hair or fuzz. My mom and I just gave up on trying to make it look good, and embraced it. So don't mind the halo of fuzz around our heads!
