Going to the Mountain

This weekend we went up Saturday to Mount Charleston with our church. Every year we have a Mountain party and I looked forward to it all summer. It is always an easy 30 degrees cooler than the valley. We left around 3 and it actually wasn't even too bad in Vegas just a little over a 100. As we drove up it was so nice to see the temperature drop to 60 by the time we got up there. All day Reagan was so excited to go to the mountain and tried on about 3 different outfits because it was going to so cold up there :) Unfortunately we didn't' have any pants for the fall yet, so I convinced her she could wear her skirt with some leggings and she would stay warm. It was so nice and cool up there even a little cold with the wind. As soon as we got up there Reagan saw the mountainside and headed to climb to the top; and of course Alice was right behind her. I had to go get Alice half way up because I was pretty sure she would just tumble right down. Reagan, however, climbed up there so fast, and Nick came and carried Alice up the rest of the way. I was pretty impressed because it is a pretty steep climb. We all had a great time eating and visiting with our friends up there. We decided that we need to go up there more during the summer!

I just liked this one of Alice.

Summer Races

Well I haven't posted in a while mainly because I have been super lazy this summer and haven't taken many pictures. Also because all we have been doing this summer is swimming. I did however do my first aqauathon. I hurt my knee and haven't been able to run which has been a huge bummer because I really wanted to do a triathlon. But I found out about this aquathon (swim, bike, swim) and decided to go for it. I was super nervous but really glad that I did it. Nick let me borrow his nice road bike. I was so glad he did because the course was super hilly. I wish that I would have been more prepared for the bike, but I did finish it and didn't have to walk my bike so that is always a plus. There were about 50 people who did the tri and 20 who did the aquathon. I came in 6th for the aquathon. I thought that was decent seeing that I had only been on a road bike 4 times before the race. So I am looking forward to my next one where I can do better.
Nick just finished his race, in fact I am waiting for him to get home right now! He is a little crazy him and his Chasqui team did a 109 mile bike yesterday. Not in a relay or anything he himself did 109 miles. He finished in about 6 hours and 50 min I think. I am really proud of him. I can't believe that he did it!!!
I have no pictures of either because mine was so early in the morning and Nick stayed home with the girls and we stayed here because his race was up in Utah. But pretty much we look like this.
